Meeting With You

We will plan to meet with you at an agreed time either at our offices or in your home, to discuss your specific needs for the funeral you are arranging. You may like to consider the points below which will be discussed during this meeting:

  • Is the funeral going to be a cremation or burial. Burial remains the most popular option in Northern Ireland. Cremation costs usually are more expensive than burial whenever you reside outside of Belfast, especially if you do not have an existing family plot to use.

  • If you have a family burial plot or need to purchase a new grave plot. We can advise you on this matter.

  • Where you would like your loved one to rest. Will there be a wake at home or you can have the use of our Funeral Home premises.

  • We can accommodate all faiths and religions or those of no faith. If you don't have access to your own minister of religion we can assist in the provision of one if you require.

  • You should consider what Church the funeral service will be held. Should you wish not to use a church, our modern funeral home offers a fully furnished room for a service. There is ample free on street parking available with disabled access to our funeral home.

  • Selection of a coffin.

  • Clothing for your loved one.

  • The funeral director can liaise with the relevant minister and cemetery or crematorium to confirm the date, time and location of the service. These arrangements will be confirmed with you later.

  • Will there be floral tributes or shall there be family flowers only with donations in lieu of flowers for your chosen charity.

  • Newspaper notices. We can place obituary notices into local and national newspapers once the funeral arrangements have been finalised. The notice can be posted on-line on The Funeral Times web site.

  • A Funeral Booklet or Order of Service for the funeral service can be printed if required. Families should consider hymns to be printed inside and a photograph (if desired) for the front cover. The Funeral Director will advise and guide you on selecting a suitable Order of Service.

  • Memorial headstone or re-lettering. Should you require any assistance with this type of service please ask.

During this meeting with you, the funeral director can provide you with an estimate of our charges so that you are able to clearly see what costs will be incurred, and you will have the opportunity to discuss these carefully and in complete confidence.
